ROXs is a combination of the digital and analogue, making kids move more in a highly enriched gameplay. ROXs is currently in production.

What can we do to make the working space more lively, playful and interactive? One of the biggest problems to be encountered in an open working space is the search for information and experts. The Skillfinder helps you to find these experts within a space in a playful manner. It is a dowsing tool that reduces the threshold for information sharing and stimulates the social community. With a hot-cold game the Skillfinder rod will guide you to the person with this expertise.

With an increase of processed foods we have built walls for ourselves for where food comes from and how it supposed to smell like. When I was in India I noticed consumers first smelled every mango and assessed it’s sweetness before it went into their basket. Processed foods take away the assessing: smelling and tasting, which are primary skills needed for cooking.

Perceptual crossing is a new field of design research that explores the idea of perceptive qualities in objects: you can see the product is seeing you. Frings is a result of embodying perceptual crossing in a drawer handle. It tries to break the user's routine at home through a magical experience.

Heartlink is the result of an explorative study as part of a student collaboration program with Philips. When people get to hear they have a chronic disease they are most afraid on the impact it will have on their lifestyle. Adopting a healthier lifestyle is not easy and often not even desired. The quality of life is more important than living long, so people are reluctant in changing their bad habits. It helps CVD patients in adapting to their own lifestyle in a reassuring way.

Many residential areas around city centers suffer from parking problems because they provide free parking space on walking distance from the city centre. Commuters (non residents) are keen in occupying these spots and walk to work. With Vendopark these ‘outsiders’ are distributed over the district more efficiently by making use of empty spaces in other areas, without troubling the local residents.

Cycling is something Dutch people are born with, yet at some point our bodies won't allow us anymore. Ashamed of being judged and too proud to accept your aging body we postpone using support tools as long as we can. With the Steady Companion we answer the unmet need of elderly to cycle with stability and with dignity.

Being agile in 3d modeling helps me build and explore ideas faster. Altough I have solid experience in Solidworks I keep myself sharp by recreating objects with double curved surfaces. It helps me analyse products and learn how they are produced. Continue reading for more modeling results.
